'CPI(M)
has gone for an oil massage in Kerala’,
tehelka.com, New Delhi, October 24
Narendra Modi, secretary and newly-appointed
spokesperson of the BJP, tells Johny M L that the
proposed Third Front under the aegis of the CPI(M) is
like a despicable “contract marriage” with an elderly
person.
What do you think about the proposed Third Front?
The Marxists are group of the old people. They have
gone for an oil massage in Kerala to have a young
look. But nobody would like to have a political
“contract marriage” with the party.
Leaders like Laloo Prasad Yadav, Praful Kumar Mohanta
and Deve Gowda look interested.
In
our country, once in a while, the politics of
negativism takes centrestage, it is not a lasting
phenomenon. Leaders who have lost the mandate of the
people and have been proved corrupt, come together in
the name of a Third Front only to protect each other.
Their political instrument is manipulation, their
ideology is negativism and what they need is a space
in the media.
Laloo Yadav still manages to keep his hold over the
people and rule them. How do you assess that?
When people are not in a position to do anything, they
prefer to live in a dream world. Laloo is doing that.
There cannot be censorship in the dream world.
“Lalooji tries to cash in on the sentiments of the
people. Once in a while people can be misguided but
not forever”
Before any other political party could act, Laloo went
to Siwan with a cheque book in his hands and helped
the relatives of the victims...
Sometimes politicians like Laloo resort to certain
acts like that to misguide the people. Lalooji tries
to cash in on the sentiments of the people. Once in a
while people can be misguided but not forever.
The CPM has changed its programme to participate in
the central government. Against this backdrop how can
you write out the grouping of the leaders under it?
The CPM, after changing its political programme; has
to answer the people in Bengal and Kerala. Why is the
party deviating from its known agenda? Why has it
taken a U-turn in its political ideology? Does it want
to grab power at the Centre by any means? Is it
Becauses its ageing leadership needs it due share of
power? What does the CPM want to do with the Congress?
These vital questions have not been answered in the
Thiruvananthapuram conference. |
